The Breakfast Shot (also called the Irish Breakfast Shot and a McGriddle Shot) is the perfect recipe to serve for breakfast during a fun weekend with friends. It’s made with Irish whiskey, butterscotch schnapps, orange juice and a bacon garnish. This recipe is often served as a double shot, the orange juice is its own shot and can be used as a chaser.

Ingredients in a Breakfast Shot
- Irish Whiskey – Such as Jameson.
- Butterscotch Schnapps – I think the idea here is to incorporate the butter flavor since it’s such a big part of pancakes, waffles and many other breakfast favorites.
- Orange Juice – Freshly squeezed, if you have it.
- Bacon – An optional (and delicious!) garnish.
Tools Needed
To make this recipe, you will simply need two shot glasses to serve your shots in.
Instructions
Prepare the bacon. The bacon used as my garnish is a half piece.
Pour orange juice into one shot glass, and garnish with bacon.
In your second shot glass, combine Irish whiskey and butterscotch schnapps. You can use a cocktail shaker with ice to mix them, or you can pour them straight into the shot glass.
Enjoy the shot first, then the orange juice and bacon as a chaser.
