TMZ reports that the date of separation was April 26, 2024, days before Jennifer served as an honorary co-chair of the Met Gala. Speculation about the couple’s split began around then as they hadn’t been seen together in weeks and he missed the big night. Reports of “tension” in the marriage surfaced in mid-May.
So, what did we learn in the divorce?
- Jennifer and Ben reportedly did not have a pre-nup, which means that all of their earnings from the past two years will be considered community property in the divorce.
- She filed “pro per,” which means that she did it by herself and didn’t use an attorney.
- Jennifer waived spousal support and asked the judge to deny spousal support for Ben as well.
- Financial settlements have not yet been agreed on, so the former couple could be headed for a lengthy divorce battle over money. TMZ reported that they have “been trying to hash out a settlement for months, and our sources say those talks are continuing, but they have become increasingly acrimonious.”
Despite the divorce, Ben and Jen spent time together just days ago for a special reason.
