Kim Zolciak Claims Kroy Biermann Is a Deadbeat Loser, Kroy Claps Back!
Kim Zolciak has slammed her estranged husband Kroy Biermann, calling him a “deadbeat” amid their ongoing divorce battle, prompting Kroy to fire back with his own sharp response.
Financial Struggles
Kim Zolciak-Biermann is making serious claims about her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, amid their ongoing divorce. In a candid interview with TMZ on Monday, September 9, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 46, alleged that she’s the one covering most of the household expenses while Kroy, 38, contributes very little.
Kim Alleges Kroy Isn’t Paying His Share
“I’m the one who pays all the bills. All the kids’ clothes, all the school clothes, most of the food,” Kim claimed, adding that Kroy has only paid for “two electric bills in the last 18 months” and nothing else. “He has not paid a bill in that house. [My daughter] Brielle has helped more than he has.”
Kim, who shares four children with Kroy — KJ, 13, Kash, 12, and twins Kaia and Kane, 10 — revealed her frustration with the former NFL star, stating that he hasn’t contributed to household expenses in a meaningful way. Kim also claimed that Kroy threatened to “destroy [her] publicly” if she ever divorced him.
Relationship Drama and Financial Woes
As their divorce trial approaches in November, Kim accused Kroy of attempting to reconcile with her just days before the interview. “He was in my room yesterday trying to work it out,” she said, but emphasized that she’s not interested in rekindling their relationship and wants a fresh start.
The pair’s financial troubles have also been making headlines. In February 2023, their Georgia mansion was in foreclosure, despite Kim’s earlier denial of legal issues in November 2022. The foreclosure was postponed, and the couple has been trying to sell the property ever since. However, Kim expressed frustration with the offers they’ve received, noting, “Who would take a $3.5 million offer on a $5.5 million appraisal? Nobody.”
Court documents revealed that Truist Bank, their lender, paused the foreclosure for 90 days, hoping the couple would sell the home voluntarily.
Kroy Responds to Kim’s Claims
Kroy Biermann, through his attorney, responded to Kim’s claims in a statement to Us Weekly, pointing out the irony of Kim’s interview being conducted while she was traveling.
“I find it ironic that this interview took place at LAX. Who’s watching the kids? The answer is Kroy. He’s in Georgia working 40+ hours a week, taking care of the kids and trying to get the marital residence sold so that the family can avoid foreclosure,” said his lawyer, Marlys A. Bergstrom.
The lawyer also noted the financial reality of their home’s value. “At the end of the day, a house is worth what someone is willing to pay for it … not its appraisal,” Bergstrom added. “If Kim is waiting to get $5.5 million for a house that is on the brink of foreclosure, she’s going to be waiting a very long time.”
A Rocky Divorce Battle
Kim and Kroy originally filed for divorce in May 2023, only to dismiss the petition two months later. However, Kroy refiled for divorce weeks after the initial dismissal, citing that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.” He is seeking alimony, child support, and full legal custody of their minor children. Kroy also adopted Kim’s two daughters from a previous relationship, Brielle, 27, and Ariana, 22, in 2011.
As their divorce battle continues, both sides are airing grievances about finances, custody, and the sale of their home, with more drama expected as they head to court later this year.
