David Beador’s Wife Lesley Beador Files For Divorce
Lesley Beador has officially filed for divorce from David Beador, marking the end of their nearly three-year marriage amid a growing legal battle.
Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador’s ex-husband, David Beador, is once again in the midst of a legal battle, as his current wife, Lesley Beador, has filed for divorce.
According to court documents obtained exclusively by In Touch, Lesley filed the petition for dissolution on September 17, just days after securing a temporary restraining order against David.
Lesley Beador Files for Divorce
Lesley and David’s marriage, which began on October 15, 2020, officially unraveled when Lesley cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of their separation. The documents revealed that Lesley listed their separation date as September 8, while David later disagreed, stating the split occurred on September 17. The couple shares a 3-year-old daughter, Anna Love Beador.
In her divorce filing, Lesley requested primary legal and physical custody of Anna, allowing David visitation rights. She also asked the court for spousal support and sought to terminate David’s right to receive any financial support from her. Furthermore, Lesley called for her maiden name, Cook, to be restored.
While details regarding their community property remain unclear, Lesley stated that “various community property assets, the full extent, nature, and location are currently unknown.” She also demanded that David be responsible for her legal fees throughout the divorce proceedings.
David Beador Responds to Divorce Petition
The day after Lesley filed her petition, David responded with his own version of events. He disputed the separation date and asked the court for joint legal and physical custody of their daughter. David also referenced their prenuptial agreement, noting that the document, signed on October 9, 2020, entitles Lesley to $10,000 per month in spousal support. He argued that these payments should begin on September 17 and continue for half the duration of their marriage. David also requested that both he and Lesley be responsible for their own legal fees, as outlined in the prenup.
Temporary Restraining Order Granted
Lesley’s divorce filing came on the heels of her obtaining a temporary restraining order against David. In her request, Lesley accused David of verbal abuse and creating a hostile environment for her and her children. The legal documents reveal that tensions escalated on September 9 when Lesley’s ex, Eriks, arrived to pick up their children. According to Lesley, David stormed outside and began yelling obscenities at Eriks in front of the children. Lesley recorded the incident and told the court, “All the children were present and witnessed [David’s] behavior toward Eriks. It was very scary. I recorded this whole incident and will provide the videos to the court.”
Lesley also accused David of sending her a barrage of harassing text messages. “After this incident, I received about 59 harassing texts from [David] in a row telling me I was ‘having sex with him,’ ‘I should go have sex with him,’ and was accusing me of all kinds of things that could never be possible. [David] truly needs help. He gets in an obsessive mania state,” she alleged.
Lesley expressed concern for her and her children’s safety, stating, “I never know when [David’s] next meltdown will be or how long they will last. These meltdowns, when they occur, are nonstop, even when he is working, and they cause me to live in fear and to worry about the effect on the children.”
David Beador Denies Allegations
David vehemently denied the accusations, telling the court that Lesley often accuses him of abuse whenever he disagrees with her. He claimed that Lesley regularly sends him messages for hours in an attempt to provoke him. “Lesley routinely tells me I am abusive when I disagree with her or make my opinions known,” David stated. He further alleged that Lesley’s anger stemmed from his decision to cut off her access to unlimited credit card spending over the weekend. “She is upset because I cancelled her credit card with unlimited spending. I am not required to sustain her lifestyle,” David said.
David also revealed that he had previously filed for divorce from Lesley three times but dismissed each petition. He accused her of attempting to extort him, stating, “Lesley will spin whatever story she needs to spin in the correct circumstance to get what she wants.”
Despite his objections, a judge granted Lesley a temporary restraining order, which requires David to stay 100 yards away from her and prohibits him from entering their home until a hearing next month.
A Tumultuous Legal Battle Ahead
As the legal proceedings unfold, both parties are gearing up for what could be a contentious divorce battle. Lesley’s allegations of abuse and David’s claims of financial manipulation have already set the stage for a complicated case. With the restraining order in place and a prenuptial agreement to consider, the court will determine custody arrangements, financial obligations, and the future of the Beador family.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for later this fall, where the court will address the restraining order and further evaluate the couple’s divorce petition.
