Rumours swirled that Barry Keoghan and Paul Mescal were tipped to appear in Beatles biopics.
Earlier this year, Sam Mendes, who directed the Bond films Spectre and Skyfall, confirmed that he was working on a project that would develop four biopics for every member of the Beatles.
The films will all be released in 2027 and tell interconnected stories, one from each band member’s point of view.
Barry was linked to the role of Ringo Starr while Paul was tipped to take on Paul McCartney.
And now it looks like we have some confirmation of this.
Yes, Ringo himself has spoken out about the upcoming biopics, speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he said: “I think it’s great. I believe he’s somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many.”
Despite Ringo’s endorsement, no casting has yet been confirmed for the film.
“A source close to the film cautions that there are no deals with any cast yet, so this could all fall apart,” Hollywood bible Variety shared.
Alongside Paul and Barry tipped to play the musical icons, it’s rumoured that Charlie Rowe will play George Harrison and Harris Dickinson will star as John Lennon.
