She was among the global stars who walked the red carpet of the coveted event, making everyone go gaga over her. During the event, she also interacted with the media and revealed some unknown facts about her personal and professional life to the audience. This is when she spoke about putting the grief of her father’s passing away into the fight scenes of Mary Kom and going to work four days after his funeral.
The team of Pinkvilla recently caught Priyanka Chopra talking about her dad’s passing away at the ongoing Red Sea International Film Festival. During the media interaction, the global icon revealed that her father, Ashok Chopra passed away the month she was supposed to start shooting for her film Mary Kom.
All the sets of the boxing scenes were up and her dad passed. “So, I went back to work four days after his funeral because I know that’s what my dad wanted me to do and I put all my grief into those fight scenes,” the diva recalled. She reminisced about shooting one month of just fight scenes every single day back-to-back and then she went and shot Gunday with Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
During the media interaction, PeeCee also spoke about Sanjay Leela Bhansali coming to her dad’s funeral and giving her a hug. At that time, the ace filmmaker told the grieving Priyanka that she do not have to come to work. He also said that he understands her situation and they can shut down the sets and wait for her whenever she is ready.
But since The Sky Is Pink actress knew that the one thing her father would have never wanted her to do was not go to work, hence, she resumed working a couple of days after his sudden demise. Chopra also revealed that while she was shooting for Bajirao Mastani, she got to play the main role in the American thriller drama television series, Quantico.
