“I put up the bread for my broski’s funeral, that was my first time bookin’ a hearse,” he declares in the track, likely referring to friend Fernando Johnson (aka FDot) who was murdered in January 2023 near his home.
“How do I put this pain into words? Like a bullet from a gun, it burns,” he says, interpolating Skepta‘s 2019 single “Bullet From a Gun.”
“If I don’t pay the bills, then who will? / Remember I felt like the man, got train OT, two days, got two bills / Open my mind, I’m feelin’ limitless, just like the film, popped two pills / It’s a full-circle moment, I come out the Nike HQ with a shoe deal,” he reflects.
Can’t Rush Greatness is Central Cee‘s debut studio album, and features guest appearances from Young Miko, 21 Savage, Dave, Lil Durk, Skepta and Lil Baby.
