Anna Daly has opened up about how she would feel about a possible return to morning television.
Spoiler alert: she doesn’t see it happening anytime soon.
Yes, the seasoned broadcaster left Ireland AM back in 2021 as she felt as though it was time for a change.
Before stepping down from the hit morning show, Anna had been with the Virgin Media programme for an impressive 12 years.
Speaking to The Irish Sun on whether or not she would ever return, Anna said: “No. I feel like I’ve done it.
“I’ve done the early mornings. The great thing about doing a breakfast show for over a decade is that people will never, ever think you’re lazy,” she added.
“I left it three years ago and I’m still set to the early time. It is insane, but once you park it, you’re done.
Anna continued: “And there’s no hiding, there’s no pretending like, ‘Oh, I’ll be a more polished version of myself, or I’ll be posher or glossier’.
“I think I started out trying to be a really good version of myself, but actually it’s three hours and you can’t keep it up.”
Just last year, Anna opened up about negative comments she received while working on Ireland AM.
“In the very early stages of joining Ireland AM, the texts used to come in on a screen in front of us and me, like an eejit rookie, used to read them.”
“I genuinely wanted to know if people liked me and if I was doing an OK job. There were gorgeous things said but, of course, they washed over me,” the presenter told the Sunday Independent at the time.
Well, she handled it like a pro!
