In 1991, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Eric Forrester (John McCook) tied the knot on Bold and Beautiful. The ceremony took place in the desert in Palm Springs and after the couple exchanged vows, Eric surprised his bride with a trip in a hot air balloon. Their destination was a beautifully appointed tent, where they made love for the first time as husband and wife.

In 1996, One Life to Live’s Blair Daimler Manning (Kassie DePaiva) gave birth to her daughter with Todd Manning, Starr Manning. At the time, Todd was believed to have been killed in November 1996 in Ireland, though he would resurface in Llanview later in the year. Blair had gone into premature labor while in a heated confrontation with Marty Saybrooke, who Blair blamed for Todd’s seeming demise. Fortunately, little Starr arrived safely after Blair underwent an emergency C-section. In 1998, Kristen Alderson assumed the role of Starr, and played her until OLTL’s cancellation in 2012 (and from 2012-13 on General Hospital).

In 2014, Guy Wilson debuted as Will Horton on Days of Our Lives. He assumed the role from Chandler Massey. Wilson’s first stint as Will ended in 2015, when the pivotal character was seemingly killed at the hands of Ben Weston, the Necktie Killer (his fate was later reversed). In his first interview with Soap Opera Digest, Wilson paid homage to Massey, saying, “He’s a brilliant actor and he brought this character to life. He very effectively told a very important story [Will’s coming-out journey]. My objective has always been to continue that legacy of telling a story that is important to people, and also important to me. If I can do that, then I will be content with myself; if I can live up to that bar that he set.”

In 2018, Annika Noelle debuted as Bold and Beautiful‘s Hope Logan. The role had last been played by Kim Matula, who departed the show in 2016 after a six-year run. Noelle noted to Soap Opera Digest of her first daytime gig, “You hear rumors about how hard soaps are but it is only until you fully step into the arena and are asked to perform that you finally see everything that goes into it. Days with over 100 pages of dialogue, one take to get it right, the speed, limited budget…. I will say it time and time again, but the people working in soaps are some of the most talented and dedicated people out there.”
