Reports have surfaced that former Young and Restless star Shemar Moore, who played Malcolm Winters on the CBS soap to Daytime Emmy-winning acclaim and was last seen on the show back in 2023, has split from his girlfriend of almost five years, model Jesiree Dizon. The two have a daughter, Frankie Melelina Kapule Moore, who was born on January 24, 2023. Moore wanted to respond to the reports himself.

Moore and Dizon have been a couple since 2020, and in addition to her daughter with Moore, Dizon has two kids from prior relationships, Charli and Kaiden. Looking to protect Dizon and all three kids, Moore took to his Instagram account to confirm the news of the split — but also to address the building media firestorm surrounding his personal life.
“There’s been a lot of press releases that hit today or yesterday talking about my personal life — my life, my private life — with Jesiree Dizon,” Moore began. “It’s my life. It’s not your business, but I know how Hollywood works. I know how all this media stuff works. It’s gossip, gossip, gossip, and that’s just what it is and, you know, ‘Be careful what you wish for. You know what you signed up for’ type of thing…. If I wasn’t halfway famous then nobody would care. And maybe there’s a lot of you out there that don’t care, and you know what? Thank you. Thank you. That’s less stress on my plate.”
The actor continued, “I’m a funny dude. I’m a goofy dude. I’m a silly dude. I’m a serious dude. But right now, I’m just going to be an honest dude. Mind your business…. Give us a break, give us some privacy. So the press release was that me and Jesiree are no longer a couple and we live separately, that we’ve broken up. Well, it’s true, it’s true.”
Moore then made it clear that he remains a passionate protector of Dizon and the family they created. “I spent five years with Jesiree Dizon,” he said. “She’s an amazing woman. She’s an amazing woman for so many reasons.” Chief among them, he noted, was that Dizon “is a phenomenal mother, phenomenal mother — loving, attentive, caring, smart, nurturing. Phenomenal. To her son Kaiden, to her daughter Charli and to our daughter Frankie, when you hear our business on the Internet or wherever, it’s our business.”
He also issued a plea to his followers to maintain decorum in the comment section of posts related to his personal life. “If you get in there with the comments and you start trashing and being negative, then you ain’t a fan of mine,” he declared. “If you really have love for me, if you’re a fan of me, then be kind. Be kind. Breaking up ain’t easy. It ain’t easy, but if you get into all that negativity, then you can basically kiss my ass.” He said that his attitude toward fans who “don’t love on me and root for me” was “Bye. Unfollowed. Just go away, and good luck to you. If you don’t love and enjoy and show love to Jesiree, then good-bye. Go away and good luck to you. Me and Jesiree love each other. That’s not going to change until the day God calls my name. Ain’t gonna change.”
While acknowledging that he and Dizon “have our differences,” Moore reiterated that the pair were “going to love each other and we’re going to love the hell out [of] Frankie.” He added, “I’m so grateful that our daughter Frankie gets to call Jesiree ‘Mom’ and that he and Dizon “are friends, we are lovig friensds, and we have fun together and we’re gonna co-parent, and we’re gonna go to ballet, soccer, basketball, Disneyland, the water park, whatever. We’re gonna do all that, because it’s not about anything but the children…. We’re just gonna live life a little differently.”
The actor concluded by stressing his commitment to his child. “Eeverything I’ve done in my life is nothing without the miracle of Frankie,” Moore shared. “And I’m going to be the dopest father that that little girl has ever known, because that’s the only reason I’m still here. That’s the only reason I’m living, that’s all I’m living for. I’m going to be the best version of myself for my daughter, Frankie.” He asked of his fans, “Please root for me, Jesiree, Kaiden, Charli and Frankie to win.”
Moore has been enjoying success with his post Y&R career, first with Criminal Minds from 2005-2017 and more recently with S.W.A.T., which he started in 2017 and has reached milestone episode number 150 this week. You can watch his entire video post below.
