Shakira has been hospitalized.
The 48-year-old superstar, who just launched her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour, has been hospitalized with an “abdominal issue” forcing her to postpone her show in Peru.
“I AM SORRY TO INFORM YOU ALL THAT LAST NIGHT I HAD TO GO TO THE ER FOR AN ABDOMINAL ISSUE AND AM CURRENTLY HOSPITALIZED,” she wrote in a statement on social media on Sunday (February 16).

“THE DOCTORS WHOSE CARE I AM CURRENTLY UNDER HAVE COMMUNICATED THAT I AM NOT IN GOOD ENOUGH CONDITION TO PERFORM THIS EVENING,” she continued.
She added that she was “very sad” about the postponement because she had been “looking forward to reuniting” with her “incredible fans” in Peru.
Shakira said she’s hopeful “to be released and well” tomorrow so that she is “able to perform” on Monday (February 17).
“MY TEAM AND THE PROMOTERS ARE ALREADY WORKING ON A NEW DATE TO COMMUNICATE TO YOU. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING, I LOVE YOU ALL. SHAK,” she concluded.
She is scheduled to perform in Peru on Monday (February 16). She is then scheduled to perform five shows in Colombia — three in her hometown of Barranquilla — from February 20 through February 27. We are wishing the best to Shakira in her recovery!
